Bryan Hooper

Bryan Hooper is a resident of Yukon, Oklahoma; married with grown children and grandchildren. Recently retired from the paper industry, he now serves as the director of religious education for adults / OCIA Director for Saint John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon. He is a Marine veteran and former protestant who came to full communion with the Catholic Church in 2009. Bryan is a graduate of Newman University Pastoral Ministry Program; the Archdiocese Spiritual Direction program and holds a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from Aquinas Institute of Theology.

Rita House trained at St Scholastica in Fort Smith, Arkansas to be a Spiritual Director. She is now retired and resides in Oklahoma City. She is a Parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Church. She walked the Camino and enjoys walking with those on their journey to God.

Rhonda Dean Kyncl

St. Thomas More University Parish – Norman, Ok

Dr. Rhonda Dean Kyncl is a Catholic convert who joined the church at Easter of 2013. She and her husband had served as campus ministers for the Church of the Nazarene prior to their conversion. Rhonda serves as an administrator in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma and works with undergraduate students in that role. She and David are members of the St. Thomas More Parish in Norman and have two adult children.
 

Rosemary Lewis

Sometimes an outside observer can see movements that are not so easy to see from inside our heads. “Knowing God and God’s great love and faithful Presence and living God’s Will is my ground of being. My life of grace really took hold in the early to mid-’90’s through the Retreat of St. Ignatius, entering the Catholic Church, and receiving spiritual directors’ training. My personal relationship with God has been/is formed through a life of prayer, prayerful reading of the daily liturgy, mass and the reception of the sacraments, adoration, and discerning God’s Will throughout the day. God’s grace continually carries me to greater freedom and healing from interior wounds that block finding God in all things so as to respond to God and others as God Wills for me. God calls me to assist others in the life of prayer that God gives them, to compassionately and respectfully accompany people in their inner healing and unique faith journey, to be listening attentively to the movements of God for/with them, and to always be holding them in prayer. I am grateful to God for this life calling of prayer, Union and holy obedience to our Triune God and of being with others in prayer and spiritual direction.”

I received my training from the Benedictines at St. Scholastica in Ft. Smith Arkansas, and I attended the 30-day Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in Loyola, Spain, 2022. Currently I serve as Spiritual Director, Retreat Director, and Spiritual Director Supervisor at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Retreat Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Kathy Payne

St. John the Baptist – Edmond, Ok

Kathy Payne is a Spiritual Director in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Kathy has always felt the call to serve and does so on a variety of levels.  She leads a long standing Lectio Divina group, serves as a Lector in her parish, and along with her husband, Tim, acts as a mentor for engaged couples, having written the Marriage Preparation program for her parish.  She has led many faith formation programs including Confirmation, Advent Day’s of Reflection, and Day’s of Reflection for Spiritual Directors, and weekend retreats for engaged couples.  Kathy also serves on the Priest Review Board for the Archdiocese.  She is a Benedictine Oblate with the Clyde, Missouri Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.  She is an active practitioner of Ignatian spirituality and Benedictine spirituality and thus participates in both annual retreats to deepen her own prayer life.  The Ignatian motto, “God in all things,” is the north star for Kathy.  Guided by the Holy Spirit, Kathy welcomes people looking to deepen their relationship with the Divine.  Whether participating in the Retreat in Daily Life and looking for a director, or just wanting to explore your own relationship with God, Kathy welcomes you warmly. 
 

Mary Diane Steltenkamp

Mary Diane Steltenkamp, RN, MAPM, FCN served as the  Priests’ Nurse of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City for  five years retiring in August 2018.   In this role she provided services addressing wholistic health for the clergy of this Archdiocese.  Mary Diane served as the Director of Faith Community Nursing with Catholic Charities for 16 years.  Previously, she worked in the field of Dialysis and Transplantation.

A 1968 graduate of St. Anthony School of Nursing, Mary Diane continued her education pursuing a BA in Pastoral Ministry from Newman University and a Masters of Pastoral Ministry from Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis.

She has been a Spiritual Director since 1986 and for ten years coordinated the Spiritual Director Formation Program for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.  Mary Diane is a retreat facilitator and a presenter on issues of health and spirituality.  She is also the author of a  book titled:  The Blue Boat:  A Collection of Stories about Rituals.

I have been in church ministry in the Catholic Church since 1974 – music and Adult RE. I completed my training in spiritual direction in May of 2008. I have an intercessory prayer ministry called Waters of Peace.

Theresa Horinek

Theresa Horinek is a cradle Catholic, who has been a member of the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Newkirk, Oklahoma for over 30 years. She completed the Summer Residential Formation Program for Spiritual Directors at The Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality in Denver, Colorado in the summer of 2023 and completed training to provide the Spiritual Exercises in the spring of 2024. She also has a degree in Theology from Newman University, Wichita Kansas. She provides spiritual direction in person in Newkirk, Oklahoma and online via Zoom. While journeying with individuals in spiritual direction or providing the Exercises of St Ignatius, she enjoys seeing how each personal relationship deepens with God.

Faith Reilly

I am currently the Director of Evangelization for the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oklahoma City. I oversee faith formation programs for youth and adults, including RCIA for those interested in learning more about the Catholic Church. My training for spiritual direction was through the Sisters of Benedict, Red Plains priory (2000-2004). I am a spiritual director for individuals and a group facilitator for the Retreat in Daily Life. Prior to becoming Catholic in 1989, I was active in the Baptist and Methodist churches.  I have been married to Pat for almost 35 years, we have three grown children and two grandchildren. Education includes AA from Rose State College, Pastoral Ministry from Newman University and various professional certifications.

Judy Reilly

Judy is a member of The Church of the Epiphany of the Lord, Oklahoma City. She has been a spiritual director since 1989 having been trained by the Sisters of Benedict. Judy is married, has two adult children and four grandchildren. She does direction in her home and by Facebook if the need arises.

My name is Cecilia “Ceci” Chapman-Taylor. I reside in the Ok.C./Edmond area and belong to St.John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edmond, Ok. I have served as a Spiritual Director in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City beginning in 2016 to the present.

Steve Vargas

Steve Vargas has been a spiritual director for 8 years. He began his 5-year formation for Spiritual Direction in the fall of 2012 and received his certification for Spiritual Direction in the summer of 2016. Steve is a Catholic, he is a member of the Catholic parish of St. John the Baptist Catholic church, and is open minded to all faiths. Steve retired from the United States Air Force 1994 with 21 ½ years as an Air Traffic Controller and then went on to work for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and retired in 2018. Steve has been married for forty-nine years to his high school sweetheart Nancy and has two daughters and two granddaughters. Steve is a Graduate of Oklahoma City University with a degree in accounting.
