Contrary to common belief, holiness in family life doesn’t consist of the perfect aesthetic, but rather in the messiness of ordinary family life. Through considering the model of Nazareth, and with glimpses into the ordinary family lives of the saints, we will contemplate the ways to find Christ in the ordinary moments of family life. Rather than being a hindrance, family life can be a domestic monastery – a place where each member can grow in holiness through frustrations, humor, joy, and sorrow. Rather than compartmentalizing prayer from ordinary life, come and learn ways in which your family can live with a sacramental worldview (even in the midst of dirty dishes, budgets, and endless piles of laundry).
