Fundamental Theology and Elements of Philosophy

The Altum Institute
The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City

Course Description

This course explores the foundations of ethical philosophy within the context of Catholic theology. Moving beyond the Manualist moral tradition, it embraces a holistic approach that integrates theological, philosophical, and anthropological perspectives. Students will examine concepts of human and Christian flourishing, focusing on virtue, moral reasoning, and the dignity of the human person. Through critical analysis and discussion, the course aims to form a deeper understanding of how ethical principles shape a Catholic worldview and guide authentic Christian living.

His Master’s thesis is a call to view atonement theory through the Ancient Israelite understanding of redemption and the patrimonial symbol of the “House of the Father”.
